William C. Ballard, 89, of Howards Grove, passed away, Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice. Born February 15, 1933, to the late William C. and Ruth (Toman) Ballard in Milwaukee.
On February 15, 1958, Bill was united in marriage to Dorothy Ollhoff at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the I.U.E.C. local union 15. In his retired years he built a Cobra and worked on many other cars. He was a tinkerer of clocks and pianos. Bill and Dorothy enjoyed sailing on their sailboat, they were also season ticket holders at Road America.
Bill is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his son, William “Billy” (Nancy) Ballard Jr. his grandchildren Andrew and Jacob Ballard along with Ashley Ballard; his sister Sandra Hahn, brother-in-law, John Ollhoff, sister-in-law, Elaine (Larry) Schuman, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, his four sisters, Delores Haag, Ruth (John) Phelan, Rosette (Richard) Reinke and Theresa (John) Kaiser, and his brother-in-law Donald Hahn.
A private family service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Bill's name.
