Ruth Johannes

Ruth L. Johannes, of Sheboygan and formerly of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. She was 90 years old.
Ruth was born June 30, 1927, the daughter of Lewis and Frieda Neitzel. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1945. On November 6, 1948, she was united in marriage with Richard Johannes at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, and a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She and Richard had traveled all over the world together. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
She is survived by her children Rick (Diane) Johannes of Oregon, WI and Julie (Lenny) Ploeckelman of Sheboygan. She is further survived by 4 grandchildren: Jason Johannes, Amy (Sean) Mosby, Eric (Jill) Ploeckelman and Carrie (Joel) Michaels; 6 great-grandchildren: Serena, Harper, Logan, Emma, Cade and Sawyer; sister-in-law Arlene Johannes of MN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, W2776 State Hwy 32 in Howards Grove. Pastor Darrel Bergelin will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Ruth will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery following the service.
