Robert Elmer Spindler

Robert Elmer Spindler, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024 at Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 1, 1932 in the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County to the late Norman and Elsa (Schneider) Spindler. He attended Millhome, Howards Grove and Schwartzwald Schools. For a few years he worked for farmers and then he worked for the Arnoldi Poultry Farm for almost five years. On May 6, 1959 he married Violet (Dedering) Adelman. 

Robert was a member of Bethel UCC in the Town of Herman where he was baptized and confirmed. After marriage he and his wife belonged to Faith UCC at Erdman for several years, and later in life he was a member of Immanuel UCC in the Town of Herman. He and Violet were historians for the church for many years, and Robert was a member of the Sheboygan Co. Research Center. He was also involved in the choir for many years, and served as a deacon and an elder. He worked for Kohler Company as a molder for almost 40 years, until his retirement in 1994. He was also a member of the Millersville Fire Department for several years. Robert enjoyed gardening, genealogy, playing skat and sheepshead. Robert loved to travel with his wife, and together they enjoyed many tours in the U.S. and even went to Germany twice! In his post retirement years, he was a caretaker for the Immanuel Cemetery until 2006. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by all of his beloved family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Violet, his children Sandra Mansker, Susan (Brian) Gollhardt, and Scott (Debra Rautmann) Spindler. He is further survived by his grandchildren Bruce (Rose) Mansker Jr., Derek (Jenny) Mansker, Shaun (Julie) Mansker, Kortney (Adam) Miller, Jason (Laura) Arnhoelter, Eric (Kasey) Arnhoelter, and Bryan Arnhoelter; great-grandchildren Noah, Cayden, Josiah, and Claire Mansker, Ethan, Kamiyah, Preston and Carson Mansker, and Sari, Elijah, and Elliana Mansker, Chase and Mia Arnhoelter, and Zachary and Brooks Arnhoelter; his brothers Earl (Dolores) and Glen Spindler, sisters Darlean (Lloyd) Rumpff, Jane (Duane) Enders, Janice Hollenberger, and sisters-in-law Shirley and Bonnie Spindler, and brother-in-law Allan Hellmer; step-grandchildren Jessica (Eric) Luecke and Jordan (Kayla) Gollhardt, and step great-grandchildren Aubrey and Hailey Luecke. Robert will be further missed by many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brothers Norman Jr., Roger, and Dale Spindler, his sister Karen Hellmer, brother-in-law Frank Hollenberger, and sisters-in-law Lois and Karen Spindler.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, as well as Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their amazing care and concern. 

A funeral service will be held on July 12, 2024 at Immanuel UCC, W3694 Co. Rd FF, Plymouth, WI 53073, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Kim Henning officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the CHURCH. He will be laid to rest at Immanuel UCC Reformed Cemetery immediately following the service.
