Richard Kammerer

Richard H. Kammerer, age 62, Of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday January 14, 2017 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born March 15, 1954 in Plymouth, WI a son of Harold and Delores (Gierke) Kammerer. Rich graduated from Elkhart Lake High School, class of 1972. He attended Morraine Park Technical Institute, receiving his Associates Degree in Food Manufacturing Technology in 1974, later receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing in 1999 from Lakeland College.

On October 10, 1975 Richard was united in marriage to Kaye Krebsbach at Community U.C.C. in Elkhart Lake. Rich started his career with Lake to Lake Dairy, and was later a Senior Training Specialist at the Kohler Company.

Rich was a Cub Scout Den leader for St. John's UCC pack 3823 and later Boy Scouts Troop Leader 823 at Zion UCC. He was a former School Teacher at Zion UCC. And Basketball Coach at the Sheboygan YMCA. An avid Muskie fisherman, Rich was very active with the Between the Lakes Muskies Inc. Chapter 20, founding and managing a Thursday Night Summer Musky League. Rich enjoyed woodworking, making everything from Musky lures to furniture, and he was very proud of his yard work and landscaping.
Family was most important to Rich, and being Papa to his boys and three grandkids was his pride and joy. His best times were out on a lake fishing with friends, having a cold one and solving the world's problems.

Surviving Richard is his loving wife, Kaye; two sons, Brett(Emily) of Madison and Eric Kammerer of Sheboygan, three grandchildren; Bentley, Leo and Hazel, His father, Harold Kammerer of Sheboygan Falls, his brother, Charles Kammerer of Chilton, sister-in-law, Debra Trapman of Oak Creek, WI, nephew; David (Claire) Kammerer, and nieces; Tina (Murray) Doucet, Angie (Chris) Ames and Melissa (Patrick) Schmutzer. Also surviving are cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many great friends. Rich was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Kammerer, his father-in-law, Edmund Krebsbach, mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Richard (Luella) Luehrs .

A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Saturday January 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road. The Reverend Thomas Schroeder will officiate. Friends may call on the family on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Richard H. Kammerer.
