Marion Karstedt

Marion Karstedt, 93, of Howards Grove, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Harvest Home in Howards Grove.
Marion was born October 18, 1923 in the Town of Mosel, daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle (Bartzen) Roehl. On May 6, 1944, she was united in marriage to Harold Karstedt in the Town of Mosel. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1994.
Marion farmed with her husband in Howards Grove. She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ. Marion enjoyed playing cards, traveling, bird watching, gardening and flowers. Her family was her pride and joy, she loved creating memories and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marion is survived by 3 daughters, Carol (Kenneth) Matzdorf of Elkhart Lake, Judy (Mark) Zimmermann of Elkhart Lake, Lori Hansen of Wisconsin Rapids, 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; Kevin (Kim) Matzdorf and their children, Kyle, Katelyn, and Karissa of Chesterfield, MO, Keith (Shannon) Matzdorf and their children, Ethan and Emily of Cloquet, MN, Bonnie (Dean) Ziegler and their children, Hannah and Julia of Howards Grove, Jeffrey (Jill) Zimmermann and their children, Collin, Peyton, and Brennan of Elkhart Lake, Jessica and Lindsay Hansen both of Wisconsin Rapids. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband Harold, by a sister, Ruth (Norman Lutze) (Albert) Stuckmann, brothers, Frederick (Myrtle) Roehl and William (Mildred) Roehl.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Bethel UCC, W4225 County Line Rd., Elkhart Lake, with Fred Meyer officiating. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
A memorial fund will be established in Marion's name.
