Marion N. Hoard

Marion N. Hoard, age 97, passed away peacefully into her Savior’s arms on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center.

She was born in the Town of Mosel on August 18, 1927, to the late Hugo and Elsa (Pieper) Bohlman. On March 16, 1945, Marion was united in marriage to Harold Hoard in Dubuque, IA. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1979. Marion was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, being baptized and confirmed. Music was a passion of Marion’s and she enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years. 

Marion had enjoyed many activities, such as, playing organ, gardening, canning, crocheting and playing games. She was well known for her baking with some favorites being, Stollen and Cherry-go-Round. She was a reserved and sweet woman and loved spending time with her family. She cherished the moments of babysitting her grandchildren and watching them grow. She will be deeply missed by so many. 

Marion is survived by her daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” (Dale) Bramstedt and Debby (Neal) Henschel; grandchildren, Douglas (Renee) Bramstedt, Dean (Rachel) Bramstedt, Darin (Kerri) Bramstedt, Katie Wehrmann; a step-grandson, Matthew Henschel and a grandson-in-law, Eric (Anna) Meinnert; great-grandchildren, Jordan Bramstedt, Payton Bramstedt, Samuel (Danielle) Bramstedt, Luke (Megan) Bramstedt, Anna (Joseph) Ebert, Kelsie (fiancé Race Dvorachek), Dylan Bramstedt, Grace and Harper Meinnert and Caleb, Abbi, and Levi Heinen; a step-great-granddaughter, Olivia; great great-grandchildren, Claire, Nora, Lucy, Lydia, Jesse, Joanna, and Malachi and a sister-in-law, Joyce Bohlman; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Harold, Marion was preceded in death by a special granddaughter, Samantha Meinnert; a step-grandson, Michael Henschel; siblings, Irene (Marvin) Schmidt, Helen (Earl) Neumann, Karl (Lorraine) Bohlman, Ronald Bohlman; along with Harold’s parents and siblings.

A Memorial Service for Marion will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 441 Millersville Ave., in Howards Grove. Family will greet visitors at church on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Marion will be laid to rest at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Cemetery. Marion’s memorial service will be livestreamed on her obituary page on the funeral home website.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in Marion’s name be sent to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 441 Millersville Ave., Howards Grove, WI 53083.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Rocky Knoll for the excellent care given to Marion in the last 9 ½ years. They would also like to thank the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and support shown during this difficult time. A special thank you to Pastor Bode for the visits and prayers over the years.
