Luis Aguirre Sr.

Luis A. Aguirre,74, passed away much too soon on July 18, 2022. He was born in El Salvador Zacatecas, Mexico on August 25, 1947, to the late Augustine Aguirre and Concepcion Ramos de Avila. Luis immigrated to the U.S in 1970 San Antonio Texas & then Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

No matter where he went, people gravitated to Luis. He had a curious nature that invited conversation & laughter. He was a friend to everyone and would help anyone. Luis had a deep sense of community, he stewarded & participated in church, St. Clements ( Comite de Consejo Parochial para Hispanos) & city events including annual 4th of July Sheboygan’s parade Latino float, he sang at Bratwurst days/ Kohler picnic, Baile Folclorico, swing, country line and disco. In the early 80’s hosted the first Spanish (WHBL) radio station on Friday evenings. He was a Spanish/ English court interpreter for Sheboygan County Court House for five years.

Luis’ retired from Kohler Co. in 2009 from the Tool & Die Maintenance Dept – 40 years of service. In his retirement Luis & his wife, Maria loved to travel and often visited his sons/grandchildren in Texas & extended family in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico & Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. In his youth, Luis was an avid softball & soccer player, a longtime member of the Sheboygan Sports Club, as a licensed FIFA member he refereed High School and adult Club Soccer matches & played in several softball leagues in Sheboygan.

Luis is survived by his loving family, his Wife Maria D. (Villarreal) Aguirre, his sons, Luis (Jennifer Schulze-Aguirre) Aguirre Jr., Alfredo (Claudia) Aguirre and Jaime (Regina) Aguirre. eight grandchildren: Saul M. Aguirre-Villarreal, Marcelo Aguirre, Mia Aguirre, Jordan N. Aguirre, Joaquin O. Aguirre, Jorge E. Salazar, Andrea M. Salazar, Sofia C. Salazar, along with 15 brothers and sisters, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, other family and friends. They will all miss their beloved 'tio’, Special thanks for Liz Juarez-Gomez & John V. Gamez, Sr. who provided support & assistance this past year.

Luis was preceded in death by his parents, his son Sergio R. Aguirre, stepfather Francisco Ramos, brothers Francisco Ramos, Hector Ramos, Eduardo Ramos, Manuela Ramos, Paulina Uresti Aguirre. He was also preceded in death by nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 2 p.m. at St. Clements Church, 522 New York Ave, Sheboygan. A burial service at Wildwood Cemetery to follow the funeral service. The family will receive relatives and friends at Zimmer Westview, W2132 Garton Rd, Howards Grove on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 3- 6 p.m.
