LaVerne "Vernie" Weber

LaVerne “Vernie” V. (Barts) Weber, age 71, of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, May 4, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.

LaVerne was born on July 10, 1950, to Arno and Anita (Isaac) Barts, in Sheboygan. She graduated from Howards Grove High School with the class of 1968. LaVerne was united in marriage to Thomas Weber on August, 14, 1976, at Trinity Lutheran Church – Sheboygan. Together they raised two children, Robin and Andrea.

Shortly after her high school graduation, LaVerne began working at Bemis Manufacturing. She greatly enjoyed the people that she worked with and was especially grateful to the Bemis family. She retired after 44 years with Bemis in April of 2013.

LaVerne loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing with them and reading them stories.

LaVerne was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables. After harvesting her vegetables from her garden, she would later enjoy canning them. LaVerne liked to do arts and crafts, especially crocheting.

LaVerne was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove and participated in the Altar Guild and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Howards Grove Fire Department and belonged to the Fire Corps.

LaVerne will be forever in the hearts of her loving husband of 45 years, Tom; children, Robin (Aaron) Larkin and Andrea (Stephen) Seifert; grandchildren, Kiersten Larkin, Arima Seifert, and baby Seifert; brother, Marvin (Audrey) Barts; sisters, Linda Grapentine, Loretta (Gary) Fisher, LuAnn (Glenn) Gernentz; brothers-in-law, Melvin Wilsing and Ken (Sue) Weber; sisters-in-law, Karen Lindekugel and Kathy (Jim) Struve; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fritz Barts and Marty Barts; and sisters, Lorraine Lindekugel and Lucille Wilsing.

A funeral service will be held for LaVerne at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church – Howards Grove (W2776 WI-32, Howards Grove, WI 53083) with Pastor Krause officiating. A public visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of LaVerne’s service at the church. The service will be livestreamed and viewable at a later date from her obituary page.

A memorial fund has been established at Trinity Lutheran Church – Howards Grove in LaVerne’s memory.
