Kathleen (Brockman) Redeker, 78, of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Sheboygan Senior Community.
Kathleen June Brockman was born June 16, 1938, the daughter of the late Edgar and Viola (Muehlenpfort) Brockman. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Danforth, Illinois. After graduating from Gilman High School and Valparaiso University, Kathy taught at Luther South High School in Chicago for 5 years. On June 26, 1966, she was united in marriage to Bernell Redeker. Starting in 1966, she taught at Crescent-Iroquois High School for 3 years. After earning her Masters Degree at the University of Illinois, she returned to the Crescent City School System as Principal for 24 years, retiring in 1994.
Kathy and Bernell were members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Woodworth, Illinois. She had served on the board of directors of the Prairieview Lutheran Nursing Home in Danforth, Illinois from 1989 to 1998.
In 2000, Kathy and Bernell relocated to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin to be closer to family. Kathy was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plymouth. She and her husband loved to travel, visit with friends, fish for crappie and watch baseball, especially her beloved Cubs.
Kathy is survived by her husband Bernell and their children: Steven (Tricia) Redeker and Stacy (Doug) Tuttle. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Nick and Kate Redeker and Tyler Tuttle, her brother David (Nancy) Brockman, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A time of visitation and support will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1808 Eastern Ave. in Plymouth from 4 pm until a memorial service at the church at 7 pm. Pastor Casey Sudgen, will officiate. Inurnment will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Woodworth, Illinois.
