Julie Anna Salm, 64, of School Hill, passed away January 2, 2017, at Sharon S .Richardson Community Hospice. Julie was born December 29, 1952, in Clovis, New Mexico, to the late Robert and Colleen (Patrick) Turner. On August 20, 1971, she married Gerald Salm in Clovis. The couple spent the first few years of their marriage stationed in the Netherlands, where Gerald was serving in the United States Air Force. There they had their first two children before moving back to the family farm where they continued growing their family.
Julie spent many years working alongside her husband on the family farm and raising their seven children. She had an unbelievable ability to heal and care for various kinds of lost or injured animals. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her horse, Hootie. She also volunteered fostering kittens for the Free Roaming Feline program.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald; her children Trina (Russell) Ward and their children Trinity and Keara; Patrick (Bernice) and their child Alisha; Nicholas (Krista) and their children Mason and Eli; Brian (Becky) and their children Tess, Emma and Leah; Paul (Ann) and their children Andrew, Henry and Baby Salm; Matthew (Katy Fitzgerald) and their children Emma, Addison, Brady and Ivan; Renee (Ian) FitzGerald and their children Autumn and Liam. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Mary Ann Salm; her uncle Everett (June) Patrick of Bedford, Indiana; cousin Bly (L.K.) Howard of Clovis; and her friends Linda and Woody Taylor of Clovis. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Colleen and father-in-law Andrew Salm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (11928 Marken Road, Kiel) with the Rev. Patrick Nelson as celebrant. Friends may call on Thursday, January 5, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove).
