Julie A. Peichl, age 64, of Thiensville, passed away peacefully with her niece at her side on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon, WI.
Julie was born on March 15, 1958, to Arthur and Helen “Mel” (Grunewald) Peichl in Sheboygan, WI. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School. After high school, Julie graduated from UW-Milwaukee with her Bachelor's Degree in nursing and later further advanced her education with a Master's Degree from Marquette University. Julie spent her entire career working in the Columbia St. Mary’s - Ascension Hospital Entity for over 37 years. She had many different roles over the years within the hospital system, from pain management and orthopedics as a staff nurse to later becoming a Clinical Nurse Specialist. She implemented many new systems and protocols, both in surgery and stroke treatments. Her goal was to help patients, nurses, and physicians every day.
Julie had a love for golf and excelled at it. She was a sports fanatic and knew every stat and rarely missed the games that were important to her. Julie played basketball in high school and through college at UW-Milwaukee. Julie was an animal lover – especially dogs. A visit from Mabel the Comfort Dog brought her peace on her final day.
Julie will be dearly missed by her brothers, Gary L. Peichl, and Randy (Verla) Peichl; niece, Rachel (Cameron) Peichl-McGee; aunt, Marie Mulder; and other relatives and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen; brother, John; aunts and uncles; her beloved dogs, Matilda “Mattie” and Sasha; and other family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held for Julie at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Zimmer-Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (W2132 Garton Road, Sheboygan, WI 53083) with Pastor RaeAnn Beebe officiating. A public visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Private interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards several causes that were dear to her heart - Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Organization – Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Humane Society.
Julie’s family would like to thank The VanDyke Cancer Center along with Dr. Nand for their caring support with her 12.5-year battle with cancer. The family would also like to thank the Lawlis Family Hospice for treating Julie and her family like family of their own in Julie’s final days. In Julie’s own words, she wanted to express her thanks to the “Warnimont Wonder Women Golf League – thank you for the kindness and support through this ordeal. It has been difficult, but you have all been there for me and I appreciate it. And I am proud of being a Wonder Woman.”
