Judy Strysick, 63, of Sheboygan, formerly of Chicago, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Through all the procedures and pain she refused to give up. Judy was born August 26, 1953, in Chicago, to Esperanza Garibay and the late Jesus Martinez. She attended Catholic grade school and graduated from Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, IL. Judy was a beautiful woman with an infectious smile that could light up a room. Throughout her life her true passion was helping others. She was as compassionate in her professional life as her personal life. Judy was employed as a CNA and worked with the elderly in Sheboygan at Morningside Health Center and Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Because of her exceedingly kind soul she made many friends during her journey through life. Judy will be missed by many but we all know our angel was called home to take her place amongst the other angels.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her children, Claudette Barutha, Charmaine Strysick and Bradley Strysick; grandchildren, Devin Barutha, Aliana Patino, Dylan Barutha, Ethan Barutha and Aiden Richardson; special friend, Robert Erdman; sisters, Delfina (Manuel) Rodriguez and Susan (Eddie) Slayton; brother, Jessie (Daniella) Martinez; her half-brothers, Mario Martinez her long-time companion, Brian Wheeler.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda and Emma Martinez.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church (807 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan) with Rev. Matthew Widder as celebrant. Friends may call on Friday, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow cremation on Saturday, July 22, at 10:00 a.m. at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
