Janet A. Wuestenhagen

Janet A. Wuestenhagen (Mertzig), age 73, of Sheboygan Falls, WI, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She is survived by her husband James Wuestenhagen of Sheboygan Falls; son Casey (Judy) Wuestenhagen of Jackson, WI; daughter Nealy (Ryan) Hilbelink of Sheboygan Falls, WI; sons, Joseph Wuestenhagen of Minneapolis, MN and Adam (Theresa) Wuestenhagen of Plymouth, WI; grandchildren, Sami Wuestenhagen, Amelia Wuestenhagen, and Aubree Wuestenhagen; siblings, Victor Mertzig of Sheboygan, WI, Dennis Mertzig of Stewart, FL and Bruce Mertzig of Sheboygan, WI; and nephews and a niece. 

She is preceded in death by her mother Patricia (Mike) Haase and father John Mertzig.

Janet worked in the food industry for many years like her mother did. She then had gone to school to become a travel agent until retirement. After retirement Janet volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and Mary’s Room.  

She loved traveling, cooking, baking, gardening, shopping for bargains, gambling, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She always looked forward to “Monday Fun-day” with her lifelong best friend Kathy Specht and trips with the YAYA’s/Bloomies who loved to have a great time and enjoy life together. 

A memorial service for Janet is scheduled for Friday, November 22, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd., Sheboygan. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Janet will be placed at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sheboygan Falls. The family will also hold a celebration of life that will occur at a later date. 

She made her one-way trip to heaven and now can enjoy eternal paradise.
