Iva Endres

August 12, 1930 — June 4, 2017

Iva (Ivy) Grace Endres, 86, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Ivy was born August 12, 1930 in Indiana, and was adopted by the late Carl and Lucille Gutzmer.
Upon graduating from High School, Ivy received her RN degree and worked at various hospitals in the Milwaukee area.
On July 23, 1955 Ivy married the love of her life Leonard (Dick) Endres in Milwaukee. In 1960, they moved to Sheboygan where they raised their family. Once all her children entered school, Iva was employed at the Schwarz Fish Retail Market and retired after 28 years.
Ivy enjoyed playing cards, gambling in Las Vegas and Oneida, arts and crafts and loved those Packers. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ivy was a very generous, loving soul who helped anyone in need. Mom was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, delivering meals up until a year ago. She had a great sense of humor even up to the end.
Ivy was a long time devoted member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, where she was actively involved in numerous committees. She taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible school for many years and was known as "Grandma Ivy". She especially enjoyed helping her granddaughter Sarah in recent years with Vacation Bible school.
Ivy will be deeply missed by her family, son Richard (Gloria) Endres, her daughters Sharon (Scott) Reynolds, and Melody (Jim) Kolb. Further survived by her cherished grandchildren Clay Mayer, Ashley (fiancé Alan) Mayer, Sarah and Jessica Kolb, Aaron (Shelly) Reynolds, Jeremy (Niki) Reynolds, Shawn (Jennifer) Engel, and great-grandchildren, Amber and Allison Engel, Ona and August Reynolds, Eleanor and Vivian Reynolds. She is further survived by her brother Bill Gutzmer and sister-in-law's Darlene Endres and Pat Gutzmer, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves behind her beloved precious cat Abby.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ivy was preceded in death by her brother Bob Gutzmer and sister Dorothy Vanderventer and her brother and sister-in-law's Sue Gutzmer, Fred Vanderventer, Shirley and Don Magnowski, Carol Brown, Donald Endres and Rhoda Everard.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following: Dr. Mary Gentine and her staff for the wonderful care provided to our mother, St. Nicholas Home Care enabling her to stay at home, and the Sharon Richardson Hospice team for the compassionate care and support they provided to her and our family, especially Kathy Coronado, Mallory Reinemann, and Kathy Schultz who always brightened up her day.
In honoring mom's wishes, there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, June 11th at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 2114 Wedemeyer Street in Sheboygan. The gathering will be held in the Friendship Hall from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a luncheon served.
Happy is the family who pray, play and work together, and know one another's hearts. Mother, your unconditional love will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
