Harold Meinnert

Harold J. Meinnert, 84, of Kiel, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Manitowoc Health & Rehab. Center. Harold was born on October 30, 1932 in Sheboygan Falls to William and Eliza (Hinz) Meinnert. He was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, and went on to proudly serve in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Korea.
In May 1956 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Marlene Fenner at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Marlene preceded him in death on April 1, 1997.
Harold was a dairy farmer. A true outdoorsman, Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and being on the farm. He had a passion for restoring old tractors. Making wood and butchering at Knoll's were fond memories of his.
Harold is survived by his sons; Steve Meinnert of Kiel, Wayne (Ellie) Meinnert of Newton, and Robert (Jean) Meinnert of Kiel, grandchildren, Jarrod Meinnert, Janelle Meinnert, and Justin Meinnert, sister Alice (Roger) Thomas of Sheboygan Falls, and four sisters-in-law; Evelyn Meinnert, Lou Meinnert, Jeanette Meinnert, and Diana Meinnert, he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers; Willard, Walter (LaVerne), Milton, Norbert, and Marvin, and by his sisters; Helen (Lawrence) Klemme, Anita (Richard) Derlein, and Dorothy (Harold "Pinky") Grunewald.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel UCC in Harold's name.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Bethel UCC, W4225 County Line Rd., Elkhart Lake, with Rev. Jim Liddle officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel UCC Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at CHURCH.
