Harold Bernhardt Jr

Harold R. Bernhardt, Jr. "Sonny", age 73, passed away peacefully at home, on December 31, 2016, after suffering from multiple strokes four years ago. Harold was born on March 31, 1943 in Sheboygan, WI to Harold and Gladys Bernhardt. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School. He was united in marriage with Nancy Maass on November 18, 1972 in Sheboygan, WI.
In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by children Brian Bernhardt, Scott Bernhardt, Tisha Wimmer, and T Jay (Heather) Bernhardt, two step children Thomas Arentz, and Dariel (Mike) Lambrecht, seven grandchildren, and five step grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Betty Lou Ninmer, a brother Daniel (Karen) Bernhardt, mother-in-law Annice Maass of Ontonagon, MI, brothers-in-law Wallace (Bebs) Maass of Myrtle Beach, SC and Steven (Carol) Maass of Ontonagon, MI, sister-in-law Marianne Bernhardt of Grand Forks, ND, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by parents Harold and Gladys Bernhardt, one daughter Shari Bernhardt, brothers David and Richard Bernhardt, and one sister Joanne (Bob) Raatz.
Harold worked for Hayssen Manufacturing for 23 years, Curt G. Joa, Inc. for 22 years, and part time for Sheboygan News for 20 years. Harold also served in the Army reserves for four years. He was a value to his community by volunteering for the Sheboygan Police Auxiliary and Howards Grove Fire Department.
He enjoyed hunting, Nascar and local racing, the Green Bay Packers, taking weekend drives, and visiting with his family and friends.
In accordance with his family's wishes, his cremation will be followed by a celebration of life at Village Hall, 913 S. Wisconsin Drive in Howards Grove on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 4:00 PM. The family will receive visitors at the Village Hall on Friday from 2:30 - 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank Harold's caregivers Kathleen, Cristi and Joyce, his hairdresser Tracy, and family and friends for their compassionate care and support.
