Gregory Wallace Grube, age 70, passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center Manitowoc County, on February 21, 2025. He was born in Sheboygan on August 5, 1954 to Wallace and Kathleen (Gruenke) Grube. He was a graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School, class of 1972. On June 5, 1976, he married Gail La Tarte at Hope Reformed Church in Sheboygan.
Greg devoted his life to Badger Hatchery, Inc., working for his parents beginning when he was in high school, the start of a legacy. In 2008, he and Gail took over the business. He achieved the honor of certified crop advisor, a title he was very proud of. Throughout their 50 plus years in the business, he and Gail formed lifelong relationships with employees and customers alike. He retired in 2024 after a lifetime of memories.
Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He and his son Karl enjoyed hunting and taking fishing trips to Canada. In their later years, Greg and Gail enjoyed relaxing in the Florida Keys and Key Largo. Greg had quite a sense of humor, finding a way to laugh at even the hardest of situations. His family and friends will miss him dearly. The world could use more people like Greg.
Greg is survived by his loving wife Gail, and their children Karl (Mandi) Grube and Melissa Grube. He is further survived by his grandchildren Zoey and Henry Grube, his mother Kathleen Grube, his siblings Paul (Cheryl) Grube of Ada, Christine (Michael) Gabrielse of Kiel, and Cindy Christus of Sheboygan, brother-in-law Michael Smrekar of Janesville, sister-in-law Nancy Hilbelink of Sheboygan, and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Wallace Grube, his sisters-in-law Debra Smrekar and Jane DenBoer, and brothers-in-law Randall Christus, James DenBoer, and Larry Hilbelink.
A funeral service will be held at Zimmer Westview Funeral Home, W2132 Garton Rd, Sheboygan, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Nathan Athorp officiating. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
