Gilbert Van De Loo, 67, of Howards Grove, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. He was born August 4, 1949 in Sheboygan to Francis and Mildred (Grube) Van De Loo. On September 19, 1970 Gilbert was united in marriage to Nancy Gamb at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.
Gilbert worked in tool & die repair at Tecumseh Engines. He had a love for speed and enjoyed racing and rebuilding classic muscle cars. Gilbert was an avid Packer fan, enjoyed trips to the casino, hunting, making home repairs, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Gilbert is survived by his wife Nancy of Howards Grove, daughter Kelly Malzewski of Oak Creek, his grandchildren Ashlyn and Trevor Malzewski, sisters Elaine Dunisch and Carol Moeller, sisters-in-law; Nancy Van De Loo, Patricia Harper and Marlee Gamb, also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Van De Loo, in-laws Helmuth Gamb Sr., Anne Simmelink and Marvin Simmelink, and brothers-in-law; Helmuth "Junior" Gamb, Karl Dunisch, Henry Moeller, and Dan Harper.
A Celebration of Gilbert's Life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Zimmer- Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd. Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Gilbert's name.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the ER staff and ICU staff at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital for all their care and support.
