Germaine Doro

Germaine L. (Heidenreiter) Doro, age 91, of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, WI.

Germaine was born on Friday the 13th in June 1930 to Victor and Marie (Mueller) Heidenreiter in Sheboygan Falls, WI. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.

She worked at Sheboygan Dry Goods, Rose Glove Co., and Richardson Brothers.

In October 1954, Germaine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jim Doro. They took over Doro’s Bar from his mother in 1963.

Germaine taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of Ladies Aid and helped at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Howards Grove.

Germaine loved to read, and over the years she probably read every book that the bookmobile had to offer. She always enjoyed games, especially card games. She had a big and happy smile for everyone that will be dearly missed.

Germaine is survived by her children, Tim (Ann) Doro and Sarah (Bob) Hoban; grandchildren, Megan (Steve) Pahmeier, Tyler (Liz) Doro, Caitlin (fiancé, Cody Kakuk) Doro, Matthew (special friend, Kaitlyn), and Molly (special friend, Josh); great-grandchildren, Wesley and Elaina Pahmeier, Theodore and Evelyn Doro; sister, Edith (Ronald) Plocar; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Germaine was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; parents; and brother-in-law, Roger Doro.

A Funeral Service will be held for Germaine at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Howards Grove (441 Millersville Ave, Howard Grove, WI 53083). A public visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the church. Germaine’s service will be livestreamed and viewable at a later date from her obituary page on www.zimmerfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Germaine’s name.
