Gaylord Prange

Gaylord "Stogal" Prange, of Howards Grove, passed away Friday afternoon, October 19, 2018 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls after a battle with cancer. He was 83 years old.

Stogal was born May 26, 1935 in Sheboygan, the son of Gaylord Sr. and Rose (nee Babisch) Prange. He graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1953. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. On May 5, 1962, he was united in marriage with Ione Muetzelburg in the town of Edwards.

For 44 years, Stogal worked at Vollrath Manufacturing. He retired in 1998 as a Quality Control Inspector. He was a proud member of the Quarter Century Club.

Stogal was a long-time member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, where he had served on the school board, Evangelism committee, ushered and worked as a janitor after his retirement. He was also a member of the Howards Grove Athletic Club for 65 years and the Howards Grove Rod and Gun Club. In the 1970's, he enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and basketball. An avid Wisconsin sports fan, Stogal enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers, hunting, fishing and reading.

Stogal is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ione and their children: Jill (Kevin) Mattson of Hartland, Tim (Suzie) Prange of Athens, OH and Michael (Michelle) Prange of St. Petersburg, FL. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Blake and Brenna Mattson and Izzy and Rachel Prange, sister-in-law Sharon Prange of Sheboygan, nieces and nephew: Lee, Robin and Gina and their families, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Sheridan "Ace".

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 441 Millersville Avenue in Howards Grove with Rev. Aaron Mueller officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Stogal's name.
