Frederick "Fritz" W. Klokow Jr., 89, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2017 surrounded by his family, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was born February 10, 1928 in Edwards to Frederick and Lucy (Brumstead) Klokow. Fritz graduated from Howards Grove High School. Following High School, he joined the US Army proudly serving from 1950 - 1952. On September 13, 1958, he was united in marriage to Marie Helen Sauer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
Fritz worked for Brillion Iron Works, Vollrath, and retired from Larry's Distributing after 25 years. Following his retirement, he worked at Piggly Wiggly in Howards Grove part-time many years. He was a lifetime member of St. John's UCC Schwarzwald, serving on the consistory for 2 terms.
Fritz loved being outdoors, gardening and fishing. Babysitting his grandchildren, and was a member of the Howards Grove Athletic Club for 50 plus years, were where he enjoyed creating memories.
Fritz is survived by his children; Kathy (Joel) Aulik, Steve (Yolanda Sanchez) Klokow, and Gary (Sue) Klokow, grandchildren; Erica Aulik, Nicole (Tom Vercauteren) Aulik, Joel Brandon (special friend Breeya Spencer) Aulik, Zachary Klokow, and Julianne Klokow, great-grandchildren; Desiree, Maisie, Tessa, and Fiona. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Marie on March 23, 2017, and siblings; Lucille Reinke, Karl Klokow, Marie Behnke, Elenore Seifert, Cora Wetstein, Dorothy Klokow, Ethel Moenning, and James Klokow.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 4:00 PM at St. John's UCC Schwarzwald, W3401 Orchard Rd. Elkhart Lake, with Pastor Melinda Feller officiating. Burial will take place at St. John's UCC Schwarzwald Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John's UCC Schwarzwald in Fritz's name.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Terrace Place and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for all the care and comfort they provided Fritz and his family.
