Felix Valand

Felix Valand, 89, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was born May 20, 1927 in Maribor, Yugoslavia to Frank and Mary Valand. Felix immigrated to Milwaukee and worked at Allis Chalmers. In 1959 he was united in marriage to Bernice Redensek, she preceded him in death in 2008. They moved to Sheboygan in 1960 and he worked for Thomas Industries until his retirement.
Felix was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, he was extremely talented and enjoyed making model airplanes from wood. He loved to polka and enjoyed the music. Felix had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor; he was always putting a smile on everyone's face. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Felix is survived by his children, Albin (Dewi) Valand of Madison and Diane Valand of Sheboygan, by his grandsons, Ryan and Alex Valand of Madison, and by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in by his parents, wife Bernice, and his siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 822 New Jersey Ave. Sheboygan, with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Felix's name.
