Evelyn Steinhardt

Evelyn T. Steinhardt, age 99 of Elkhart Lake, passed away peacefully Saturday morning July 3, 2021, at Cedar Community, surrounded by her family.

Born October 27, 1921 in Rockville to the late Hilton and Alvina (Eickhorn) Baumann. She graduated from Kiel High School in 1940. In July of 1940, she was united in marriage to Paul Steinhardt. Evelyn worked for many years at Gilson, Tecumseh and Garton Toy Factory. Evelyn enjoyed dancing, listening to music, playing cards, making puzzles, playing bingo, going on casino trips, and was also a great cook. But most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Chuck (Bonnie) Steinhardt, Steve (Gina) Steinhardt, Paulyn “Cookie” Green, Cynthia “Cindy” (Gary) Bartz; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Steinhardt; her grandchildren, Monica (Jeff) Condit, Paige Steinhardt, Joshua (friend: Shawna Terry) Steinhardt, Jennifer (Tim) Bartz, Courtney Steinhardt, Michaela Steinhardt, Patricia (Rich) Webster, Sherry (friend: Chris) Green, Nathan (Wendy) Kraemer, Jason (Sarah) Bartz; great grandchildren, Shelby, Jett, Quinnlee, Jackson, Emerson, Kelsey, Tyler, Spencer, Callie & Kaitlyn, Madelaine and Jacob; and her sister Ethel (Art) Heberlein. She is further survived by special friends, Jeannine Halverson, Beatrice Grunewald, and Avery Nusslock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sisters, her husband, and son Michael.

Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at 5:30 PM Wednesday July 7, 2021 at the Zimmer Westview Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road, Sheboygan. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until the time of service. A private family burial will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Howards Grove.
