Edward J. Schroeder, of Sheboygan, passed away early Sunday morning, May 27, 2018 at Country Side Manor. He was 80 years old.
Ed was born May 4, 1938 in Sheboygan, the son of John and Alice (nee Lugg) Schroeder. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1956 and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. On January 31, 1975, he was united in marriage with Judy Schaefer at St. Mark Church in Sheboygan.
For 32 years, Ed worked at Plastics Engineering Company, retiring in 2000. Ed was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, as well as Riverview Club where he served as purchasing agent for many years. Ed and Judy were snowbirds who loved spending winters at their home in Florida and summers at their cottage at Wilke Lake.
Ed is survived by his wife Judy and their children: Todd (Sandra) Schroeder, Janel (Raymond) Norton and Theresa Richards. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren: Dustin (Melissa), Cameron, Holly (friend Mike), Matthew, Jacob and his pride and joy, Tayler (fiancé Justin) and Sayge, 3 great-grandchildren, sisters Ann Bartzen and Carol (Jack) Seigal, brother-in-law Donald (Barbara) Schaefer, "brother" Jim (Gail) Kapellen, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Roger Schroeder and sisters Faye Hahn and Bernice Sterk.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00PM on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd. (Hwy 42 & JJ) in Sheboygan. Pastor Elizabeth Jaeger will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Ed will be laid to rest with military honors at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
