Dr. Kenneth W. Korb, of rural Elkhart Lake, passed away at age 93 on December 29, 2024. He was born on October 16, 1931 in Sheboygan to the late Carl and Hilda (Born) Korb. Ken grew up on the family farm and graduated from Kiel High School, with the Class of 1949. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning Bachelor, Masters, and PhD degrees.
He was united in marriage to Lucille A. Rohde on September 13, 1952. She preceded him in death in 2013.
He began his career teaching History and English in Manitowoc, and concluded after 39 years as a Geography professor with the University of Wisconsin, primarily at the Sheboygan campus.
Ken contributed to his community by serving on the Board of Education and Village Board in Howards Grove. He was an active lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove.
Ken enjoyed farming, woodworking, music and travel.
He is survived by his four children, Gary (Susan) Korb, Karen (Jon) Cowan, Kathy (Robert) Huncosky and Jeffrey Korb; eleven grandchildren, Benjamin (Sheryl) Korb, Joseph (Simone) Korb, Stephen (Hilary) Korb, Katelyn (Jason) Anderson, Kirsten (Flavio) da Silva, Hope (Joey) Naeger, Joseph Cowan, Rebecca (Michael) Lloyd, Thomas (Ginger) Huncosky, Daniel (Emily) Huncosky and Elizabeth (Nolan) Eyre; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Hannah, Charlotte, Silas, Jonah, Sofia, Isla, Jay, Ingrid, Axel, Leonardo, Enzo, Cate and Willa.
Ken is preceded in death by his wife, parents, three infant siblings and brother Stanley Korb.
A funeral service for Kenneth will take place on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 1:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, W2776 STH 32, Howards Grove, WI 53083, with Pastor Noah Fremer officiating. Prior to the service the family will visit with relatives and friends from 10:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm at CHURCH. Ken will be laid to rest at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Howards Grove.
