Dorothy Herrmann, age 93, of Plymouth went to be with The Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Morningside Health Center with her family be her side.
Dorothy was born in Cleveland on March 28, 1925 to the late August and Frieda (Gabsch) Schmidt. She was employed at Prange Way as a clerk and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. Dorothy was united in marriage to Jerome Herrmann on September 28, 1947 at St. John St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1997.
She enjoyed raising her children and going dancing with Jerome. They were members of the 300 Social Club Dance. They also enjoyed entertaining guests and playing cards. Dorothy was playing cards, bingo and domino's with her friends at Salem Green Apartments. She was also a member of the quilting group within Trinity Lutheran Church. Dorothy took pride in raising her three granddaughters after her daughter Lola Mae passed away. Dorothy was loved and will be missed dearly.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter Joyce (John) Ross of Sheboygan; a son-in-law Kenneth Stemper of Pickarel, WI; grandchildren, Kory (Audra) Hansen, Jessica (Eric) Mueller, Wendy (Craig) Miller and Terri Jo Stemper (friend Mark Hill); one step-granddaughter Shelly Olsen; great-grandchildren, William and MadaLyn Hansen, Chase and Madison Miller, Avery and Mackena Mueller; step-great-grandchildren, David (Allison) Wood and Tyler Olsen and a great-great grandchild Gabrielle Kizewiski. Other friends and family further survive.
Along with her husband and daughter she was preceded in death by her sisters Emma Hintz and Helen Richter; brothers-in-law Roger Herrmann and Robert Perl; sisters-in-law Joyce Herrmann and Charlotte Perl.
A Funeral Service for Dorothy will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, W2776 State Hwy. 32 in Howards Grove, with Rev. Darrel Bergelin officiating. Family will greet visitors, at church, on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name.
The family would like to personally thank the staff at both St. Nicholas Hospice Care and Morningside Health Center for the excellent care given to Dorothy. Your kindness and compassion is deeply appreciated.
