Dorothy Grunewald

Dorothy L. (Meinnert) Grunewald, age 88, formerly of Howards Grove, went home to be with her Lord early Sunday morning, November 27, 2016. She was born in the town of Sheboygan Falls on July 23, 1928, a son of the late William and Eliza (Hinz) Meinnert. Dorothy was united in marriage to Harold "Pinky" Grunewald on November 29, 1947 at Saron U.C.C. , town of Sheboygan Falls.
Dorothy attended Prange School in the town of Sheboygan Falls. She was a lifelong member of Saron United Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting for family and friends, playing Bingo, cards and traveling with Harold. She took great pride in keeping up their beautiful home and yard. During the early years of their marriage, Dorothy worked alongside of Harold, farming in Plymouth and in the Town of Herman. Dorothy enjoyed many years of working at Klemme's Wagon, starting there in 1978 and retiring in 2014.
Surviving Dorothy is her loving husband, Harold; one brother, Harold Meinnert of Kiel; one sister, Alice (Roger) Thomas of Sheboygan Falls; four sisters-in-law, Evelyn Meinnert, Lou Meinnert, Jeanette Meinnert and Diana Meinnert. Dorothy is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory forever.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was also preceded in death by brothers; Willard Meinnert, Walter Meinnert, Milton Meinnert, Norbert Meinnert and Marvin Meinnert; her sisters; Helen (Lawrence) Klemme, Anita (Richard) Derlein. Also preceeded by brother and sisters-in-law, Marlene Meinnert and LaVerne Meinnert, Nelson and Doris Grunewald.
A Funeral Service will be held for Dorothy on Wednesday November 30, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road, Howards Grove. Reverend Dr. Ernest Huntzinger will officiate. Interment will be in Immanuel Cemetery, Town of Herman. Friends may call at Westview on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Dorothy's name.
Harold and his family wish to send heartfelt thanks to the staff at Terrace Place and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice team for the loving care Dorothy received during her illness.
