Dorothy Brass

Dorothy E. (Hamann) Brass, 86, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Dorothy was born September 5, 1929, in Town Mosel, to the late Harvey and Ella (Janing) Hamann. She graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1947. On November 15, 1947, she married Archie Brass. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2012. She started playing organ at thirteen years old at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Haven and then at Grace Lutheran Church, Haven. She also sang in the choir for many weddings, funerals and duets with Gloria for special services. Dorothy directed the choir for 43 years. She enjoyed music of all kinds. Archie and Dorothy enjoyed going up north four times a year in the Eagle River area. They enjoyed taking rides around the country and enjoying the beautiful countryside. Dorothy also enjoyed attending the Wisconsin State Fair and the Sheboygan County Fair, watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren show their registered Holstein cattle.
Survivors include two sons, William (Janice) Brass and Tom Brass; four grandchildren, Mark (CJ) Brass, Heidi (Bob) Ridge, Sara (Tim) Feldmann and Mike Brass (special friend, Ashley); two great-grandchildren, Savanna Ridge and Logan Brass; one sister-in-law, Lucille Brass; one nephew, Wayne (Jane) Brass and one niece, Pearl (Terry) Fritz.
In addition to her parents and husband, Archie, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie, two brothers-in-law, Elroy (Janet) Brass and Eugene Brass.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) with Rev. Kenneth Serr officiating. Friends may call on Friday, at the funeral home, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Grace Lutheran Church, Meals on Wheels and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care. Dorothy would also like to thank two angels, Janice and Delores.
