Donald S. Kinate, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Don was born December 26, 1930, in De Pere, to the late George and Felicia (Trautschold) Kinate. He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1948. On April 24, 1954, he married the former Elizabeth Walford at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church with his brother, Father Edmund Kinate, officiating. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2002. Don was employed by Polar Ware for 46 years, before retiring in March of 1995. He was an active member of UAW Local 108. He enjoyed bowling and golf. Don was also a member of a few card leagues and an avid Civil War enthusiast.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathryn (Michael) Susen, Howards Grove; one son, James (Judie) Kinate, Sheboygan; one grandson, Tony Kinate; one brother, Walter (Velda) Kinate, Missouri; one sister, Quirine "Connie" Sherrington, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Loraine "Polly" Kinate.
In addition to his parents and wife, Elizabeth, he is preceded in death by one son, Stephen Kinate, four brothers, Milton, Fr. Edmund, George and Wilbert Kinate, one sister, Dorothy Snygg, two brothers-in-law, Bill Sherrington and Arnold Snygg and one sister-in-law, Ruth Kinate.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, (824 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan) with the Rev. Matthew Widder as celebrant. Friends may call on Tuesday, at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
