Debora Spangler

Debora L. Spangler, 59, of Sheboygan, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Debora was born May 28, 1960, in Sheboygan, to Gloria (Schmidt) Walzcak and the late William Walczak. On February 27, 1997, she married Robert Spangler. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2009. Debora was employed by Levitz Furniture before retiring in February of 2008.
Debora was a beekeeper and member of the Sheboygan Beekeepers Association, serving as their historian. She was also a member of the Lakeshore Area Fiber Fanatics. She was passionate about photography, gardening and playing Sheepshead with family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, scrapbooking, swimming and taking the body basic class with the Prime Timers at the Sports Core. Debora made her own soap and laundry detergent and would make a year supply at a time. She also made calendula salve and homemade wine (elderberry, raspberry, cranberry, grape and mead wine), homemade sauerkraut from the cabbage she grew in her garden, about 30 pounds at a time and horseradish, along with many other wonderful things.
Debora was a social butterfly and loved to be around people. She had the opportunity to travel many different places, including Paris, France. She loved Elvis Presley and grew up listening to his music and watching his movies over and over again. She also got to visit Graceland, which was very exciting to her.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two step-daughters, Alison Spangler, Parker, AZ and April (Anthony) Thiess, Fontana, CA; four grandchildren, Ryan, Alayna, Adryana and Analis; two brothers, David Walczak (Andrea Zawadzka) and Steven (Clarice) Walczak; one niece, Kim (Scott) Berndt; three nephews, Barry (Rachel) Walczak, Jason (Maggie) Walczak and Spencer Walczak and her loving companion of over 10 years, Richard Schultz.
She was preceded in death by her husband and father.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) with Chaplain Elizabeth Dendekker officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 30, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to be used for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Meals on Wheels.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all her loving and generous friends for going the extra mile to help Debora in so many ways and to the caregivers at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice who made her comfortable.
