David Lee Genske

Howards Grove

David Lee Genske, 55, of Rhinelander, formerly of Howards Grove, died unexpectedly on December 27, 2024, at his home in Rhinelander, WI. Born on April 2, 1969 to Larry and Virginia “Ginny” (Rahn) Genske, in Sheboygan, WI. Dave graduated from Howards Grove High School with the Class of 1988. He continued studies for mechanics at Lakeshore Technical College. 

He was baptized and confirmed at St. John UCC in Sheboygan, WI. He has worked at Dick Brantmeier, Johnsonville Sausage and Bemis Manufacturing. 

He was a true Wisconsinite; winter was his favorite season. Dave enjoyed snowmobiling, listening to Metallica, and watching drag racing and Tour de France. He loved his family dearly, he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. 

Dave was a devoted caregiver to his father until the very end. 

He is survived by his mother Ginny Genske; sisters Brenda (Jeff Pingel) Pennings and Michelle (Arno) Paarmann; nieces and nephews Chad (Ellen) Pennings, Kayla (Brandon Koller) Pennings, Matthew (Zola Meinnert) Paarmann, Marissa (Joseph Parrish) Paarmann, Jessica Paarmann and Jeremiah (Margaret) Paarmann; great nieces and nephews Bryna, Brielle, Brody, Ava, Addison and Reyah; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  

Dave is preceded in death by his father Larry Genske and grandparents Alfred and Viola Rahn, and Charles and Mable Genske; aunts, uncles and cousins. 

A committal service for Dave is scheduled for Friday, January 3, 2025 at 2:30pm at The Chapel of Eternal Light Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Kohler, with Rev. Gregory Whelton officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in David’s name.
