Darwin Meyer, 78, was reunited with his wife in heaven on November 2, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born in Plymouth on February 17, 1943, to the late Raymond and Helen (Lubach) Meyer. Darwin graduated from Plymouth High School in 1961. He worked at Borden’s in Plymouth for over 46 years and it was there he met the love of his life, Jean Voss. They were united in marriage on December 1, 1962, and together they raised their three children, John, Debbie, and James on the hobby farm that they purchased outside of Kiel. Jean preceded him in death on February 11, 2021.
Darwin and Jean had a hobby farm and Darwin would show horses and also walk them in local parades. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and listening to polka music and country music. Darwin’s love for his family was always top priority, but a very close runner up was his beloved 1969 Dodge Charger that he and his son proudly restored together. He will be deeply missed by his family and they are so grateful for all of the cherished memories he leaves with them.
Darwin is survived by his children, John (Nicole), Debbie (Dave) Wills, and James (Tonia); grandchildren, Andrew (Cheyenne), Christi (Mike) Brockmann, William (Amber), Cassondra, Makayla, Amanda (Kevin) Kettenhoven, Amber, Dustin, and Lily; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Joyce Lisowe; brothers-in-law Floyd (Beverly) Voss and Earl Voss; other family and friends further survive.
Along with Jean and his parents, Darwin was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Larry Lisowe.
