Cleora was born on March 10, 1925 in Sheboygan to the late Henry Sr. and Lena (Meyer) Poth. Miraculously at the age of 9, she survived a ruptured appendix (before the invention of penicillin) due to the skills of Dr. Leslie Tasche. After another medical emergency, again Dr. Tasche saving her life, Cleora never dreamed of living to 90 thus since she reached 90, she began counting the ½ years as well as months and days. Cleora graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1942.

On April 9, 1944 Cleora married Orval Marx at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Sheboygan. The couple went on to farm on the Marx family farm in the Town of Herman until retiring in 1986. She was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Schwartzwald, serving in the Ladies Aid Society and teaching Sunday school. After moving to Howards Grove, she became an active member of Our Shepherd UCC and the Howards Grove Senior Center. Cleora was a woman of strong faith actively doing personal daily devotions and actively involved with Sheboygan Christian Women for years. Cleora and Orval were always promoters of education and extremely proud of the degrees that their children and grandchildren have.

Cleora is survived by sons, Robert Marx and Randy (Ann) Marx; daughters, Jacquelyn (Fritz) Grunewald and Joanne Wesener; grandchildren, Christopher (Colleen) Marx, Chad (Kristilyn) Marx, Ryan (Stacy) Marx, Callen (Leanne) Marx, Miranda (Mitchell) Feller, Bryan (Dana) Grunewald, Angela Grunewald, Shawn (Mary) Wesener, Shane Wesener, and Seth (Lynn) Wesener; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Nolan, Camdyn, Brody, Trent, Kalena, Korynne, Evelyn, Oliver, Levi, Baylen, Sophie Jean and Kennedy, and sister-in-law Gertrude Hameister. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Orval; sister, Dolores (Alton) Grams; brother, Henry Jr (Rosie) Poth; son-in-law, Arthur Wesener; daughter-in-law, Linda (Nohl) Marx; sister-in-law, Adeline (Ervin) Schmidt; brothers-in-law, Norman Marx and Ray Hameister; nephews, Allen Schmidt and Gary Grams; niece, Gale (Grams) Kading, and her infant grandchild, Jennifer Jay (J.J) Marx.
