Arleen Gruenke

Arleen Margaret (Neuhaus) Gruenke, 69, of Sheboygan, victoriously entered Heaven on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at home.
Arleen was born on January 2, 1947 to the late Armin & Esther Neuhaus, Elkhart Lake. She married the love of her life, Timothy Gruenke on September 11, 1982. He lovingly cared for her as she endured her courageous journey with pancreatic cancer.
She attended school at Maple Corners and Kiel High School.
Arleen's Christian walk started at Bethel UCC where she was confirmed and continued her faith at Ebenezer's UCC, Sheboygan. Her personal relationship with the Lord was ever present in her life: she loved people, animals, and nature.
She enjoyed her friendships at TOPS & Franklin Homemakers. Dancing, going for walks, hosting dinner parties and taking pictures were a few of her hobbies.
Arleen worked hard at everything she did. She was employed by Wigwam Mills, Sunny Ridge and until recently she was self-employed as a Housekeeper.
She leaves behind two sons (with Glen Hammerschmidt Sr, Sheboygan Falls) Glen Hammerschmidt Jr, New Holstein and Robert (Tammy) Hammerschmidt, Elkhart Lake; one grandson Brandon (Ashley) Becker, Milwaukee; two brothers Karl Neuhaus, Elkhart Lake and Donald (Bonnie) Neuhaus, Elkhart Lake; In-Laws: David (Mary) Gruenke, Donald (late Helen) Gruenke, Susan (late Howard) Rohde, William Gruenke, Steven Gruenke and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother John Neuhaus; In-Laws: Joseph (Alice) Gruenke, Barbara Gruenke, Ruthann Boeldt, and Peter Gruenke.
A funeral service for Arleen will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Ebenezer United Church of Christ (3215 Saemann Avenue, Sheboygan). Friends may call on Friday, at the church, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Bethel United Church of Christ Cemetery.
