Alexis Mary Progar, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, March 7, 2018 at her home in Appleton. She was 29 years old.
Ally was born September 10, 1988 in Sheboygan, the daughter of A. Thomas and Mary (nee Makrevis-Brunette) Progar. In her youth, Ally was active in Girl Scouts and Lakeshore Chorale. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 2007 and moved to Appleton a short time later. She went on to work at Business West, and most recently was a server at Houdini's Escape Gastropub.
Ally was an artistic soul who enjoyed drawing, reading, music, journaling, movies, attending rock concerts, snuggling and walks in the park with her beloved dog Sunday Mae, and socializing with family and friends.
Ally is survived by her mother Mary A. Progar, brother Ian A. Progar (Veronica) and nieces and nephew: Victoria and Lily Progar and Brian Padilla, all of Sheboygan. She is further survived by the love of her life, Robert A. Ellis, her fur baby Sunday Mae, aunts and uncles: Pat (Felicia) Progar of NJ, Bud (Luella) Makrevis of CA, Richard (Celeste) Makrevis, HI, Robert Brunette of Sheboygan and Adeline Brunette of Sheboygan; cousins: Tammy (Steve) Weller and their sons Cody and Jake, Tracy (Mike) Slaby and their son Kyle (Brittany), Ricky Kachelmeier, Allison, Diane, Michael, Rick, Melissa, Rachael and the rest of the Cuzkin, other cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives, co-workers and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father A. Thomas, her grandparents: Margaret and Edward Brunette, Alvin and Eva Makrevis and Art and Georgianne Progar, Uncle Ron Brunette, Aunt Sandy (Bud) Kachelmeier, and our dear Barb Chopich.
This is the way Ally wanted things, and she left believing she could continue to shower the people she loves with love. Let's revel in the sunshine of her love at Houdini's Escape Gastropub, 1216 Oneida St. in Appleton on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 3:30pm - 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested. Donations will be made in Ally's name to local humane societies and suicide prevention organizations.
Ally's family would like to thank her Houdini's "family" for their love, generosity and support during this time. Also, thank you to Zimmer Westview, especially Tiffany, for your kindness and empathy. You have made this process so much less painful.
Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
