Agnes Helen (Binversie) Wiltzius

Agnes Helen (Binversie) Wiltzius, age 93, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Agnes was born January 23,1931 to the late Nicholas and Catherine (Koenig) Binversie in the farmhouse in School Hill, (Town of Meeme in Manitowoc County) WI. She was the 9th child of 13. She attended grade school in School Hill and later in life went on to get her GED, something she always wanted to accomplish since she never had the opportunity to go to high school. On September 10,1955 she was united in marriage to Frank Wiltzius at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill, with her brother Reverend Bernard J. Binversie officiating.

Agnes enjoyed knitting, crocheting and embroidery, puzzles, reading and sewing for her family, canning and cooking, and taking care of her many flowers and beautiful yard. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed taking them to parks and the beach. Agnes belonged to the Slovenian Women’s Organization, working at Church events, donating many hours to taking care of vestments and linens at St. Cyril and Methodius Church, and was a longtime blood donor to the Red Cross.

Agnes is survived by her three children, Cathy (Joel) Conrad, Peter Wiltzius and Louise (John) Goode, all of Sheboygan, five grandchildren, Allen Conrad of Port Washington, Lisa (Peter) Boettner of Sheboygan, Sarah (Josh) Clavette of Manitowoc, Matthew Wiltzius of Sheboygan, and James (Christy) Goode of Sheboygan, and 7 great grandchildren, Eleanor and Amelia Clavette, Brooke & Jack Boettner and Lucas, Logan & Olivia Goode.

Agnes is also survived by her sisters Betty (Ken) Biese of New Holstein, Cecilia Smolic of Pennsylvania as well as 63 nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Frank and siblings Alfred (Rita) Binversie, Reverend Bernard Binversie, Arthur (Gertrude) Binversie, Ted (Casilda) Binversie, Leander (Pat) Binversie, Myra (Ed) Hannemann, Joan (Elmer) Nilges, Monica (Pius) Reinbold, Patricia (Walter) Scharrer, Dominic Binversie, brother-in-law John Smolic, sister and brother-in-laws Rosalie (Elroy) Vogel, Ardith Zabel & Ronald Wiltzius, daughter-in-law Christine Wiltzius and several nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at Waterford and Allay Hospice for their care of Agnes.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. at St. Cyril & Methodius Church, Sheboygan. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00p.m. Burial will take place at Greendale Cemetery, Sheboygan, WI.

In lieu of flowers, donations a Memorial Fund has been established in the name of Agnes Wiltzius.
